Baseball Ranked Eleventh In Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll

COLLEGE BASEBALL NEWSPAPER PRESEASON POLL

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University baseball team has been ranked No. 11 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll.

Northwood picked up 597 points in the poll. Delta State was picked first with 629 points, followed by Tampa with 626. Wayne State was the only other Great Lakes Intercollegiate (GLIAC) team to be ranked in the poll, placing 38th with 520 points.

Northwood is coming off the best season in school history, as the Timberwolves posted a 46-13 record on their way to a GLIAC Championship and GLIAC Tournament title. NU reached the Midwest Regional final in their first appearance in NCAA Tournament play. Northwood returns five starters, their top three starting pitchers and their top reliever for the 2018 season.

The Timberwolves will open their season February 17-18 with a three-game series at Carson-Newman.
