Athletes of the Week (Oct. 14-20)

Julie Shields

Soccer - Senior

*GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week*

Shields picked up two shutouts in a pair of 1-0 Northwood wins last week. She made seven saves in the Timberwolves' win over Findlay on Friday before making two saves in another 1-0 win over Tiffin on Sunday. Shields ranks third in the GLIAC in goals-against (1.03) and fifth in save percentage (.815).


 

Paul Ostby

Golf - Senior

Paul Ostby lead the Northwood men’s golf team to a record-breaking win at the Cedarville Invitational, claiming medalist honors at the event. He shot a personal-best two-round total of 139, carding rounds of 70 and 69 on the par-72 layout. Ostby led Northwood to a team score of one-over par 577, which is the lowest 36-hole total in school history. The Timberwolves won the event by 44 shots over second place Ohio Dominican (621).
