Baseball Ranked Fifth In Initial NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings

NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University baseball team was ranked fifth in the Midwest in the initial NCAA Regional Rankings, which were release Wednesday afternoon (April 24).

The top eight teams in the region will reach the NCAA Tournament. For the first time in the history of the event, the tournament will feature two, four-team regional sites May 16-18. The following weekend will be the super regional, with the final two teams facing off in a best two out of three series.

Northwood stands at 27-14 overall and 19-10 in region games. Wayne State is the top-ranked team in the Midwest, followed by Ashland.

Northwood returns to action for a key weekend home series against Ashland. The first game of the series is Friday (April 26). Game time has been slightly adjusted – first pitch will now take place at 4 p.m. instead of the original 3 p.m.
