An Open Letter From Dave Marsh To Northwood Basketball Fans

An Open Letter From Dave Marsh To Northwood Basketball Fans

Northwood basketball fans,

Happy New Year to you all!  It is especially a happy new year because the Northwood basketball season is finally upon us!  We are all very exciting to tip it off this Friday vs Davenport.

I just wanted to communicate with you all about how the season is going to look – well at least the plan at this point.  First off, all of us in the Athletic Department – and the University – have been working very hard and committing much time and resources to be able to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to play.  You can be confident we are taking every measure to insure a safe environment.  Everything we have been doing has been with the objective of having a season and doing it in a safe manner.  Obviously it is going to look a lot different than we are used to, but we are excited our teams will finally be able to play.

As we start the season this weekend I want to remind everyone that there are no spectators allowed at the games. This applies to all games – both home and away.  I realize this is disappointing on many levels, but it is what we need to do.  This is both a GLIAC rule, and for now a State of Michigan mandate.  Hopefully as the season progresses this rule may get to be relaxed, but for now I thank you in advance for understanding and for your cooperation.

All the other schools in the GLIAC webcast their games as well so you can watch any game online.  Some schools charge to watch, some don't (including us). The links to watch the road games will be posted for each game on the schedule.

Hopefully this information helps.  We will be sure to communicate with coaches and players should anything change.  I am sure we will have to adjust some things as we move forward but for now we are fired up to get started!

Go T-Wolves,

Dave Marsh
