Softball Jumps Into Eighth In NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings

MIDLAND, MI - The Northwood softball team jumped into the top-10 of the NCAA's midwest regional rankings this week. The Timberwolves (26-13, 12-9) come in ranked eighth as of April 27 when the regional rankings were released.
The region's top eight teams will be paired off into two double-elimination tournaments, held on campus sites May 12-14. The winners of two sub-brackets will advance to face off in a best-of-three Super Regional May 19-20 to determine the Midwest's representative at the 2022 NCAA Softball Championships, held in Denver on May 26-30.
At the time that rankings were made, the Timberwolves sat at 24-12 overall and 18-12 against midwest region opponents.
Northwood is set to finish off the home schedule the Friday, April 29 versus Saginaw Valley State, which came in ranked 11 in the midwest regional poll. The scheduled doubleheader is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday (April 29).
The NCAA selection show is set for May 9 at 10 a.m ET.
