Sydney Hasenfratz Named Honorable Mention All-America By The AVCA
MIDLAND, MICH. – Sydney Hasenfratz, a redshirt junior middle blocker on the Northwood University volleyball team, has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Hasenfratz is the first Northwood player to earn All-America honors since Juliia Pakhomenko was named First Team in 2013.
Hasenfratz was named the Great Midwest Player of the Year this season, becoming the first Northwood volleyball player to earn a conference Player of the Year award since Pakhomenko took home the GLIAC honor in 2012. A three-time First Team All-Great Midwest honoree, she set career-highs in kills per set (3.62) attack percentage (.391) and points per set (4.4). Hasenfratz earned G-MAC North Division Player of the Week three times this season and a total of seven times in three seasons. She stands first in the G-MAC In attack percentage, fifth in kills per set, second in blocks per set (1.15) and third in points per set.
Northwood finished the season with a 21-8 overall record. The Timberwolves posted its first 20-win season since 2013 while finishing second in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (12-3).
