The Northwood University cross country teams competed at the 2013 Men's and Women's NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships Saturday morning (November 9) at Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisc.
The women's race was the opening event of the day. Northwood finished 14th overall with 341 points. Danielle Miller (Clinton Twp., Mich./Fraser) led the way for Northwood, placing 21st overall with a time of 22:14.
Also scoring for the Timberwolves were Kelsey Burgess (Byron Center, Mich./Grand Rapids South Christian) clocking a 23:08, Jenny Frantz (Ovid, Mich./Ovid-Elsie) with a 23:18, Brittany Robichaud (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) at 23:33, and Chloe Theil (Plainwell, Mich./Plainwell) registering 23:38. Rounding out for the women's team were Jennifer Mckenna (Orchard Lake, Mich./Walled Lake Northern) at 24:29 and Julia Cherwinski (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage) at 26:29.
Northwood's men placed 21st with a score of 553. The Timberwolves' top finisher was Marcus Rogers (Howell, Mich. / Pinckney) with a time of 32:46. Following close behind was Silas Dekalita (Clio, Mich. / Clio) clocking a 33:10.
Also earning points for the Timberwolves were David Rowley (Mt. Pleasant, Mich./Mt. Pleasant) with 35:14, Michael Todd (Mt. Pleasant, Mich./Mt. Pleasant) clocking a 35:17, and Joe Jones (Gaylord, Mich./Gaylord) at 36:13. Will Moench (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) at 36:25 and Matthew Dippel (Kentwood, Mich./Kentwood) registering 36:52 rounded out the team on the men's side.
