Northwood's Cross Country Teams, Five Individuals Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

MIDLAND, MICH. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2018 USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for cross country Thursday (February 12) afternoon. Northwood had both teams and five individuals receive the recognition.

Northwood's had five members of the men's cross country team earn the All-Academic honor – freshmen Zane Aldrich and Parker Hayes, sophomore Brian Patrick, and seniors Caleb Barker and Dylan Rocha.

Student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade points average of at least 3.25 and finished among the top 30 percent of eligible runners at his or her regional championships and/or the top half of the field at the NCAA Championship meet.

Northwood's men's and women's cross country teams both made the All-Academic team lists. The men's team had a 3.45 GPA, while the women recorded a 3.35 team GPA.

To qualify for the All-Academic team award, programs needed a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet during the season.
