RECAP: The Division 3 hockey team won both games against Adrain over the weekend, earning a 3-2 home win on Saturday afternoon (October 18) followed by a 3-2 victory away on Sunday afternoon (October 19). 

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Northwood struck first just two minutes into the opening period, as Cade Sanborn scored off assists from Ryan Zwick and Evan Kennedy to take a 1–0 lead. Adrian responded six minutes later to tie up the game, but Sanborn added his second of the night through a power play, followed by a goal from Carter Temple, with both being set up by Colton LaRose to give the Timberwolves a 3–1 advantage. 

  • After a scoreless second period, Adrian closed the gap with a goal late in the third, but Northwood held for a 3–2 victory.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS 

  • The Bulldogs opened the scoring late in the first period to take a 1–0 lead, but Northwood responded just 15 seconds later with a goal from Thomas Kroll. Evan Kennedy followed up with another goal to give the Timberwolves a 2–1 advantage heading into the first intermission. 

  • Four minutes into the second period, Boston Bennett extended Northwood's lead to 3–1 with a power-play goal assisted by Carter Temple and Benjamin Wessel. Adrian answered later in the period with a shorthanded goal, narrowing the gap to 3–2 heading into the third. 

  • Goaltender Schultz stood tall in the final period, keeping the Bulldogs off the scoreboard and securing the 3–2 win for Northwood.
