D3 Hockey Falls In MCHC Quarter-Finals

LOCATION: Patterson Ice Center – Grand Rapids, Michigan 

RECAP: The Division 3 hockey team fell 6-2 against Michigan on Saturday afternoon (February 21) in the quarter-finals of the MCHC tournament.  

MCHC QUARTER-FINAL GAME HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Michigan came out strong, scoring twice in the first ten minutes of the opening period, including one power-play goal, to take a 2-0 lead. Northwood responded with a goal from Colton LaRose, assisted by Connor Stempky and Boston Bennett, cutting the deficit to 2-1. However, the Wolverines added another power-play goal before the end of the period to take a 3-1 lead into intermission. 

  • Michigan extended its lead in the second period, going up 4-1. Aidan French answered for the Timberwolves, with assists from Max Ciesielski and Noah Pearen, bringing Northwood within two at 4-2. 

  • The Wolverines sealed the game in the third period with two more goals, earning a 6-2 victory and advancing to the MCHC Semi-Finals.
