RECAP: North Greenville plates a run in the bottom of the eighth inning that proves to be the difference in a 4-3 win over Northwood Thursday afternoon (February 22)


  • Northwood got off to a fast start, as leadoff hitter Nick Palmer hit a solo homer to left center to put the Timberwolves on top 1-0.
  • The Crusaders came right back, getting to runs in the bottom of the frame to go back on top 2-1.
  • After North Greenville went on top 3-1 in the third, the Timberwolves came back to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth. Michael Karam scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-2 before Brooks Ullery had an RBI groundout to plate Brian Dombrowski to level the score.
  • The Timberwolves had a great chance to take the lead in the top of the eighth inning, standing with runners on second and third with no one out. But the Crusaders got out of the frame without giving up a run, keeping the score tied 3-3.
  • North Greenville then score what proved to be the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
  • Northwood went 1-2-3 in the ninth inning to give the Crusaders the win.
