ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Northwood University baseball team placed two players on the D2CCA All-Midwest Region teams Wednesday (May 15).
Sports Information Directors from around the region voted on the teams.
Palmer had a breakthrough season for the Timberwolves, setting career-highs across the board offensively. He is currently batting .367 with nine home runs and 58 RBIs. Palmer currently leads the GLIAC in RBIs while standing second in doubles (19) and third in total bases (119). His 58 RBIs this season are the second-most in school history.
Vinsky turned in his third straight year earning both All-Region as well as First Team All-GLIAC honors. He is currently hitting .371 with 11 home runs and 48 RBIs. Vinsky is currently the GLIAC leader in runs (69), home runs and total bases (126). Vinsky also ranks among the GLIAC leaders in hits (73 - second), slugging percentage (.624 - fourth), average (fifth) and on-base percentage (.493 – fifth).
Northwood (33-19) have reached the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year. The Timberwolves will face Bellarmine in an opening round game Thursday night (May 16) in Kent, Ohio. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
