GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Wildcats went on top in the opening inning on a solo home run.
- Northwood responded in the bottom of the first thanks to a Khale Showers RBI single to score Cole Brooks to tie the game 1-1.
- Wayne State put together a three-run second inning to go back on top 4-1.
- The Timberwolves controlled the rest of the way, starting with a Trevor Polewka RBI single.
- Jacob Rybicki then had a two-run triple and scored on an error to put Northwood on top 5-4.
- Showers added to the lead thanks to a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth that made the score 6-4.
- Rybicki and Michael Karam added RBI singles in the fifth to push the NU advantage to 8-4.
- Showers added another RBI in the sixth on a run-scoring single that rounded out the scoring.
- The Northwood bullpen trio of Jack Gulvas, Jack Kensora and Zach Smith did the job to earn the win, tossing 6 1/3 shutout innings.
