Derek Clark Named G-MAC North Division Pitcher of the Week
MIDLAND, MICH. – Derek Clark was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday (April 24).
Clark tossed a nine-inning complete game shutout to open a key series between the top-two teams in the G-MAC. He struck out nine while allowing five hits (all singles) in a 9-0 victory. Only one baserunner reached second base in the game. In the win, Clark tied the school record with 21 career victories and also set the school record with 234 innings pitched for his career. Clark is now 8-1 on the year with a 2.00 ERA. He currently leads the G-MAC in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts.
Northwood will take on Saginaw Valley at Dow Diamond Tuesday night (April 25). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
