Baseball Heads To Quincy For NCAA Regionals

2023 NCAA BASEBALL TOURNAMENT FIELD

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University baseball team has been named the fifth seed for the upcoming 2023 NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament.

This marks the sixth straight time the Timberwolves have earned a bid to the NCAA Championships, dating back to 2017. NU had never reached the event prior to this streak.

The brackets were announced Sunday night (May 14) by the NCAA. Each of the eight regions will host  tournaments, with the winners of each region advancing to the Division II World Series June 3-11 in Cary, North Carolina.

The Midwest Regional is split into two locations, with the top-seeded Quincy hosting fourth seed Wayne State and fifth seeded Northwood. No. 2 seed Illinois-Springfield hosts Maryville (No. 3 seed), Ashland (No. 6 seed) and Indianapolis (No. 7 seed) .

The Northwood/Wayne State game will take place Thursday. The loser of that game will play immediately afterward against Quincy. Friday's schedule will be depend of Thursday's results.

Thursday, May 18

Game One: #4 Wayne State vs. #5 Northwood, 1 p.m.

Game Two: Loser of Game one vs. #1 Quincy, 4:30 p.m.

Friday, May 19

Game Three: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner/Loser Game 2, 1 p.m.

Game Four:  TBA vs. TBA, 4:30 p.m.    

Saturday, May 20

Game Five: TBA vs. TBA, 1 p.m.
