Derek Clark and Jacob Rybicki Named To The ABCA/Rawlings Division II Gold Glove Team

MIDLAND, MICH. – A pair of student-athletes from the Northwood University baseball team have been named to the Rawlings Gold Glove recipients from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
Junior pitcher Derek Clark and senior centerfielder Jacob Rybicki and represent Northwood on the list. Northwood is the only team to have two recipients on the Division II list. Clark and Rybicki are the first recipients in program history and are the only honorees from the Midwest Region. It is the first time two player from the same team have been named to the Division II team since 2013 (Grand Canyon).
Clark was an All-American this season for the Timberwolves, finishing the year 10-2 overall with a 2.78 ERA. His finished the year with a 1.000 fielding percentage, recording nine put outs and 28 assists on the field.
Rybicki earned All-Region honors for Northwood in 2023, ending the year batting .336 with seven home runs, 49 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. He was dynamic defensively in centerfield for Northwood, recording 128 put outs and six assists while making just one error in 135 chances. His lone error did not come until Northwood's 59th game of the season.
Northwood finished the year 42-19 overall, winning both the Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles.
