RECAP: Northwood baseball dropped a pair of game at Ashland Saturday afternoon, falling 6-5 in game one before dropping a 6-1 contest in game two.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (NINE INNINGS)

• Ashland scored one in the second and two in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead.
• Northwood did not get a hit until the fifth inning but then broke through in a big way. Myles Beale connected on a three-run triple to tie the score 3-3.
• Logan Voth then followed with an RBI double to give the Timberwolves their first lead of the day at 4-3.
• AU responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 4-4.
• The Timberwolves went back on top in the top of the eighth thanks to a Brendan Hammer RBI ground out.
• In the bottom of the eighth inning, the first two batters were retired before the key stretch of the game took place. The Eagles went single, single, stolen base to have runners on second and third. A two-strike single plated two runs to but AU back on top 6-5.
• Northwood was unable to score in the top of the ninth, giving the win to the Eagles.

• The key play of the game came in the bottom of the third, as the Eagles connected on a three-run homer that made the score 4-1.
• AU added two unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 6-1.
• Northwood fought back in the final inning, starting with a Ben Narr RBI double.
• Beale made it 6-3 with an RBI groundout from Beale that scored Narr.
• That rounded out the scoring, however, giving the Eagles the win.
