NORTHWOOD NOTES

  • This is the fourth conference tournament championship in program history, joining the 2017, 2018 and 2023 teams. All four tournament titles came after Northwood finished the regular season with the best record in conference in the regular season as well.
  • Northwood's title is their second as members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. In both championships, Northwood had to defeat Ohio Dominican in the finals. In 2023, NU needed to win two games, while needing to win just one this year. All three deciding games were decided by the score of 9-3.
  • Pitching and defense were the keys to the Northwood title. In Northwood's four wins in the tournament, the Timberwolves posted a 1.88 ERA while posting a .994 fielding percentage (one error in four games). The next lowest ERA in the tournament belonged to Walsh at 5.50. No other team in the tournament had an ERA below 6.17.
