Caden Duryea Named NCBWA Midwest Region Hitter of the Week

MIDLAND, MICH. – Caden Duryea, a senior outfielder for the Northwood University baseball team, has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Midwest Region Hitter of the Week.

Duryea, who was also named the Great Midwest North Division Player of the Week, hit .625 with three home runs, six RBIs, two doubles and six runs scored in two games for Northwood last week, leading the Timberwolves to a pair of victories. He had a slugging percentage of 2.000 and an on-base percentage of .667 for the two games. In NU's 3-1 win over Minnesota-Crookston, he had a double and a run scored. Then in a wild 16-15 comeback win against Roosevelt, Duryea had one of the great individual games in G-MAC history, finishing 4-4 with three home runs, a double, a walk, five runs scored and six RBIs. Duryea's 14 total bases against Roosevelt tied the single game G-MAC record.

Northwood will continue their spring trip with a game at Florida Southern Thursday (March 5). First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
