Football Falls To Kentucky Wesleyan 27-20

INSIDE THE GAME
- Northwood got off to a great start in the game. After getting a stop on defense, the Timberwolves needed just one play to put points on the board. Jacob Barlage found Brendan Teal for a 41-yard touchdown pass to make the score 7-0 at the 13:04 mark of the first.
- A key penalty on the next drive changed the course of the game. NU appeared to have stop on third down from the KWC 10-yard line, but a roughing the passer penalty extended the drive. Kentucky Wesleyan took advantage of the second chance to go 92-yards in 11-plays. A one-yard TD run tied the score 7-7.
- The Timberwolves used another big play to take the lead back on the following drive. The combo of Barlage and Teal found the endzone once again through the air, this time from 36-yards out to put NU on top 13-7.
- KWC connected on a pair of field goals over the final 9:31 of the half to send the game to the break tied 13-13.
- Northwood came out fast again in the third quarter, going 75-yards in six plays. Devin Brown scored a 33-yard touchdown run to put the Timberwolves back on top 20-13.
- That, however, would prove to be the final time Northwood would put up points in the game.
- The Panthers tied the score late in the third with a touchdown that made the score 20-20.
- Northwood went 40 yards on their following drive but stalled out, giving the ball back to Kentucky Wesleyan at the KWC 17-yard line with 5:41 remaining.
- The Panthers put together an 83-yard drive that took up all but five seconds. They found the endzone to make the score 27-20.
- NU tried one final play but were unable score, giving the Panthers the win.
