MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's golf team placed four players on the All Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) team, the league announced Wednesday (April 15).
It is the most players from the men's golf team to earn All-GLIAC honors in one season in school history.
Lippoldt posted a breakthrough season in 2019-20. He averaged 72.3 over the span of 12 rounds, the best individual season scoring average in program history. In five tournaments played, Lippoldt earned four top-10 finished and placed in the top-five twice. Lippoldt had five sub-70 rounds, including a season-best 67 at the Motor City Invite, where he was the individual medalist.
Deiters finished the year with a scoring average of 74.9. He placed in the top 20 in four of the five events contested and had a season-low score of 70 at the Northwood Invitational October 6. He has now earned Second Team All-GLIAC in two straight seasons.
Richard also earned All-GLIAC honors for the second straight season. He ended the year with a scoring average of 75.9. His low round of the season was 72, which he shot at the WSU Hawkshead Invitational September 28.
This was the first time in Staab's career that he has earned All-GLIAC honor. He finished his junior season with a scoring average of 76.0. Staab shot a season-best score of 72 in the second and third rounds of the Northwood Invitational October 6-7.
Northwood finished the fall season ranked 10th in the Midwest Region. The team finished in the fop four in four of the five events they competed in.
