  • The opening half of the match saw an even battle on both sides, resulting in a 0-0 tie at the break with both teams totaling 8 shots.  
  • The second half began with a bang as SVSU broke the tie with a goal just 15 seconds in.
  • Throughout the remainder of the game, Northwood was unable to muster up enough offense to generate the equalizer, and Saginaw Valley hung on to preserve the 1-0 victory.  
  • In a physical, chippy match, Northwood was hit with 11 total fouls and 3 Yellow Cards while SVSU was called for 15 total fouls and 2 Yellow Cards.

  • Today's loss marks the first defeat in six games for the Timberwolves. Northwood's last loss was on September 14 to Tiffin.
  • Northwood had a chance to tie the match in the 76th minute when Jerrod Suddon put a header on net, but it was saved by the Saginaw Valley keeper.
  • Northwood and SVSU battled to an overtime match earlier this season with Northwood coming out on top 3-2 back on September 11.


  • The Timberwolves will host the Tiffin Dragons at home on Wednesday October 12. Game time is set for 4pm.
