Diego Espino joined the Northwood University men’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2026.

Espino comes to Northwood after serving as an assistant coach under current Northwood head coach Steve Bushre at Southwest Baptist University, in Bolivar, Missouri. While completing his graduate degree in Data Analytics, Espino helped guide the Bearcats through one of the most successful seasons in program history, assisting with player development, training sessions, team operations and overall program culture.

Originally from Panama City, Panama, Espino earned his Bachelor of Business Management with a minor in Marketing from Point University in Georgia, where he was also a member of the men’s soccer program from 2019-23. Espino was part of Point’s historic 2021 season, helping the Skyhawks capture the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship — the first conference title in program history — while also leading the team to its first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Championship.
