Stevie Shard is in his eighth season as the head coach of the Northwood University men’s soccer program, becoming just the second head coach in program history when he took over in 2018.

Across eight seasons, Shard holds a career record of 44-73-18, including a 34-60-10 mark in conference play. His teams have recorded 26 conference victories, reached the GLIAC Tournament Championship match once, and advanced to the GLIAC semifinals twice. Known for their competitiveness and continual development, Shard’s teams consistently navigate one of the most challenging conference environments in NCAA Division II.

Before taking over the program, Shard served as an assistant coach at Northwood from 2015–17. During that time, the Timberwolves won two GLIAC regular-season championships (2015, 2017), a GLIAC Tournament title (2015), and made a memorable run to the 2015 NCAA Sweet 16.

A native of Manchester, England, Shard brings international experience both as a coach and former professional player. His playing career included stops with Oldham Athletic, Bury FC, Kilmarnock, and Morecambe.

Beyond Northwood, Shard has contributed to soccer across multiple levels. He has served as Director of Coaching for the Developmental Division of Michigan Rush Lansing Soccer, a scout for the Michigan Olympic Development Program, Director of Operations for PSG Bolton (2011–16), and National Director of Club Recruitment for the Midwest Soccer Academy (2008–16).

Shard resides in Midland, Michigan, with his wife.
