MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's and women's tennis teams each earned bids to the NCAA Tournament Tuesday night (May 7).
There are eight regions in both tournaments, with two schools hosting events in each region. The teams that win each sub-regional will qualify for the round of 16, which will take place in Altamonte Springs, Florida May 22-25.
On the women's side, Northwood (13-4) is seeded fifth in the Midwest. NU will open the event with a neutral-site contest with fourth-seeded Drury (14-4) May 13. The winner of that match will play host and top-seeded Indianapolis (21-0) May 14.
The men's team (13-9) is the No. 6 seed in the Midwest. The Timberwolves will open up the tournament with a match against No. 3 seed Drury (15-5) May 11. The winner of that match will face either host and second-seeded Wayne State (20-3) or No. 7 Grand Valley State (16-8) in the second round May 12.
All match times will be determined in the upcoming days.
