Cross Country Teams Opens Season At The Jeff Drenth Memorial

The Northwood Timberwolves cross country teams opened their 2012 season at the Jeff Drenth Memorial Friday morning (August 31).

No team scoring was taken at the event, which was hosted by Central Michigan University.

The men's team was led by newcomer Enock Rono (Eldoret, Kenya). The freshman finished second out of 74 runners on the 5K course. He clocked a time of 15:38.50 in the event. Junior Marcus Rogers (Howell, Mich./Pinckney) also ran well for the Timberwolves, placing eighth overall at 15:49.67.

On the women's side, junior Danielle Miller (Clinton Twp., Mich./Fraser) was the top finisher for the Timberwolves. She clocked a time of 19:11.28 on the 5K course to place 14th out of 60 runners. Sophomore Brittany Robichaud (Monroe, Mich.) was 27th overall at 19:56.33.

Northwood will return to action September 14th at the Spartan Invitational.
