Ashley Ziel Earns First Career G-MAC Athlete Of The Week Honor

MIDLAND, MICH. - Ashley Ziel was named softball athlete of the week by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this week, Monday (April 10). This is her first career Athlete of the Week honor she has earned.

Ziel hit a whopping .800 from the plate, slugging 1.600 while going 8-10 over the Timberwolves' four games last week. The freshman collected two doubles, two home runs, and five RBI. She also took three walks to up her OBP to .846.

In her last eight games, Ziel has five home runs, and 15 RBI, and boasts a .667 avg. (18-27); including a two-homer game versus Ursuline Saturday (April 8).

Northwood softball is currently 24-13 on the season and is set to travel to Grand Valley St. Tuesday as they take on the Lakers at 3 and 5 p.m.
