RECAP: Northwood softball continued its opening weekend slate on Saturday (February 14), dropping a pair of games to Barry and No. 8 North Georgia at the Gild City Classic in Dahlonega, Georgia. The Timberwolves end the week losing twice more: to Barry, 11-0, and to North Georgia, 7-1.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS - BARRY

• Barry opened the scoring in the second inning with a three-RBI double to take a 3-0 lead.
• The Buccaneers added a run in the third before breaking the game open in the fourth. Barry plated seven runs in the inning, highlighted by a grand slam, to extend the advantage to 11-0.
• Northwood's lone hit came in the fifth inning when Abby Robinson singled through the left side. Jenna Kowalski also reached base with a walk earlier in the game.
• Barry held the Timberwolves scoreless through five innings to secure the shutout victory.

• Northwood struck first once again, scoring in the opening inning. Gage Lambert singled and later scored on an RBI single by Ashlyn Lundquist to give the Timberwolves an early 1-0 lead.
• North Georgia tied the game in the third before taking control in the fifth inning. The Nighthawks plated three runs in the frame, highlighted by an RBI double and a run-scoring single to pull ahead 4-1.
• North Georgia added three more runs in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 7-1 and close out the game.
