Men's Track & Field Earns Three Spots At 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Championships

MIDLAND, MICH. – Northwood University Track & Field is set to send three athletes to the 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships. The championships run from March 13-15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis, Ind.

MEET THE ATHLETES

Northwood's throws squad produced two qualifiers in Will Nemecek (men's shot put) and Luke Eros (men's weight throw). Blake Vier was Northwood's one runner, qualifying for the first NCAA Championships of his career. This is Nemecek's second straight Indoor Championships and the first of Eros' career.

Nemecek earned the selection setting and resetting his school record shot put marks again and again this season. He currently sits with his best mark of 18.09m which puts him as the No. 11 seed going into the Championships. Will is fresh off earning the Great Midwest Athletic Conference shot put title this past weekend (March 1), and he looks to earn his second straight All-America honors. He placed eighth and was a First Team All-American in 2024.

Eros has made the most of his sophomore campaign, becoming the fourth Northwood athlete to hit the 20m mark in the weight throw. He will be seeded No. 11 ahead of the Championships and looks to make his mark at his first Championships. He hit his record at GVSU's Friday Big Meet (February 14).

Like Eros, Vier looks to make a mark at his first Championships. Vier has consistently been Northwood's best of a great men's hurdler group that ranks eighth in DII this season. He became the third Northwood athlete ever to run a sub-eight-second 60m hurdles race. His best mark came at the Mike Lints Alumni Open (February 8) with a 7.90 finish which seeds him No. 11 ahead of the Championships.
