Timberwolves Turn In More Strong Performances at SVSU

RECAP: Northwood men's and women's track & field competed Friday and Saturday (January 30–31) at the Jet's Pizza Invitational hosted by Saginaw Valley State in University Center, Mich.
INSIDE THE MEET
FOR THE MEN
- Sophomore Owen Hager highlighted the weekend with a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles, running a new 8.18 PR after qualifying first overall in prelims at 8.33. His finals mark moves him into a tie for fifth on the Northwood men's indoor all-time top-10 performers list in the event.
- Freshman Reagan Page cleared 4.25m in the pole vault to finish ninth, improving his position on the Northwood men's indoor all-time top-10 performers list, and setting a new PR.
- Senior Arthur Powell IV advanced to the finals of the 60-meter dash with a 6.97 in prelims and later ran 7.02 in the finals.
- In the 400m, Diogo Vaz led Northwood with a fifth-place finish, posting a time of 49.01. Chase Burston (50.22 – 21st), Adam Johnson (50.37 - 23rd), and Carson Daniel (50.61 - 28th) rounded out Northwood's best four.
- Northwood had a strong showing in the 800m, led by junior William Haw, who won the event with a time of 1:52.69. Caleb Palmreuter followed in fourth at 1:53.89, giving NU two runners in the top five.
- Freshman Denali Smith cleared 1.89m in the high jump to place seventh. Evan Hurley and Jack DeWildt both cleared 1.84m.
- Sophomore Lucas Schumaker led Northwood in the weight throw, placing sixth with a mark of 16.96m. Nick Ball followed in ninth at 15.66m.
FOR THE WOMEN
- Sophomore Kaylee Locke led Northwood in the 800m, running 2:17.99. She placed 11th as Northwood's best finisher.
- In the 400m, junior Brooklyn Wolcott posted a time of 1:00.68, while Nava Sanocki ran 1:02.84. Wolcott placed 14th, and Sanocki took 26th.
- Junior Breanna Hyde led Northwood in the field events, placing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.16m and fourth in the triple jump at 10.36m.
- In the sprints, Keiyera Johnson ran 8.30 in the 60m prelims and 9.56 in the 60m hurdles. Vivian Williams ran 8.38 in the 60m and later posted 27.23 in the 200m.
- The Northwood 4x400m relay team of Johnson, Wolcott, Sanocki, and Locke ran 4:03.23 to take sixth.
