Track Tallies Two All-Americans As Vier Earns Podium Finish in 110m Hurdles At NCAA Outdoor Championships

EMPORIA, KAN. – Northwood University Track & Field wrapped up competition at the 2026 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Emporia State University, May 21-23. Junior hurdler Blake Vier highlighted the weekend by earning First Team All-America honors in the men's 110m hurdles.

MEN'S 110M HURDLES

Vier entered the national championships ranked tied for No. 2 in NCAA Division II and backed it up with a strong performance on the national stage. The junior won his preliminary heat on Friday with a time of 14.08 to automatically qualify for Saturday's finals.

In the championship final, Vier earned First Team All-America honors with a third-place finish, crossing the line in 13.82. Minnesota State's Rinaldo Moore captured the national title in 13.52, while teammate Kenjuan Hampton placed second in 13.79.

Vier's finish scored six team points for Northwood and marked one of the top performances in program history at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Vier is the first All-American in the 110m hurdles since Rami Gharsalli took sixth in 2017 and landed the highest men's finisher in any event in the common DII era for the Timberwolves

MEN'S HAMMER THROW

Luke Eros made his NCAA Outdoor Championships debut in the men's hammer throw. The sophomore recorded a top mark of 62.03m to finish 13th overall in a highly competitive national field.

Eros capped off a breakout sophomore campaign that saw him rank among the nation's top hammer throwers throughout the outdoor season. His finish earned him Second Team All-American, the first All-America honors of his career.

Northwood finished the team standings with six points. This marks Northwood's highest finish in the points race since 2002, when the men's team finished t-31st with 8 points.
