Blake Vier Named CSC Academic All-America® Second Team

MIDLAND, MICH. – Northwood University men's track & field and cross country standout Blake Vier has been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Division II Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday (July 14). Vier was one of 15 student-athletes selected to the Division II Second Team.

The Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined achievements in athletics and academics.

Vier adds the national academic honor to a remarkable outdoor season in which he was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year.

At the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Vier finished third in the 110-meter hurdles to earn First Team All-America honors, becoming Northwood's first 110m hurdle All-American since 2017.

Earlier this summer, Vier earned CSC Academic All-District® honors to advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. A graduate student pursuing a Master of Business Administration, he carries a 3.92 undergraduate GPA after earning a 3.50 GPA as a graduate in business administration.

The CSC Academic All-America® program is among the most prestigious academic honors in collegiate athletics, recognizing student-athletes who have distinguished themselves both in the classroom and in competition.
