ATLANTA, GA. - The Northwood University women's basketball team was placed on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Wednesday (July 25).
This marks the eighth time under Northwood head coach Jeff Curtis that the Timberwolves earned a top-25 academic ranking (2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19).
Northwood ended the year with a 3.565 GPA, which was good for 21st out of over 280 Division II schools. Tiffin led D-II with a 3.809 GPA. Northwood was one of three teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to earn the honor.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2018-19 season is the 24thin which the WBCA as compiled the honor rolls.
