Maeve St. John Earns Second G-MAC Athlete of the Week Honor In The Last Three Weeks
MIDLAND, MICH. – Maeve St. John, a senior on the Northwood University women's basketball team, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Monday (December 8).
This marks the second time in the last three weeks that St. John has earned G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors.
St. John averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.5 assists per game in pair of road wins. She finished the week shooting 55.6 percent from the floor (15-27), 54.5 percent from 3-point range (6-11) and 91.7 percent from the foul line (11-12). In Northwood's 71-55 win at Tiffin, St. John had 15 points, four rebounds and three steals. Then in the Timberwolves' 78-74 comeback win at Ashland, she had one of the finest all-around individual games in program history. St. John finished the contest with 32 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and three assists. She went 10-13 from the floor, 5-7 from 3-point range and 7-8 from the foul line. She has now scored 32 points twice in the last two weeks, which are the two highest individual scoring games in the G-MAC this season.
Northwood (6-2, 2-0 G-MAC) hosts Hillsdale Thursday (December 11). Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
