Women's Basketball Falls At The Buzzer At Thomas More 71-70

GAME STORY
- Northwood got off to a fast start in the game, thanks to Maeve St. John. She scored the first 15 Timberwolf points of the game in the opening 5:15 to put NU on top 15-5.
- Thomas More responded by controlling the remainder of the quarter, outscoring Northwood 11-2 to give the Timberwolves a 17-16 lead after one.
- The Timberwolves kept the lead throughout the second quarter, but the score remained close throughout. The biggest advantage of the second was five points. NU held a 35-33 lead at the break.
- With Northwood leading by four with 4:36 remaining in the third, the Timberwolves were the better team the rest of the quarter. NU led by as many as 10 before standing with a 54-46 lead heading to the fourth.
- Thomas More's offense got rolling in the fourth and started the quarter on a 12-4 run to level the score 58-58 with 5:34 remaining.
- The Saints, who had not led since the score was 16-15, took the lead 65-62 with under three minutes remaining.
- Northwood trailed by five when the Timberwolves scored six straight points to go back on top 68-67 with 15 seconds remaining.
- TMU responded with a layup to with six seconds remaining to go back on to 69-68.
- St. John was then fouled with three seconds remaining and connected on both free throws to put Northwood back on top 70-69.
- Thomas More, who shot 68.8 percent in the final quarter (11-16), connected on a layup with a second remaining to take the one-point victory.
