Maeve St. John Earns Third G-MAC Women's Basketball Athlete Of The Week Honor

G-MAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MIDLAND, MICH. – Maeve St. John, a senior on the Northwood University women's basketball team, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Monday (January 12).

This marks the third time this season that St. John has earned G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors. She also earned the honor November 24 and December 8).

St. John averaged 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.7 steals per game in three G-MAC contests. She shot 49.0 percent from the floor (24-49), 47.4 percent from 3-point range (9-19) and 95.5 percent from the foul line (21-22). St. John scored a career-high 34 points along with seven rebounds, six steals and three assists while going 12-12 from the foul line in a win over Malone. She became the 21st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark. Her 34 points in that game are the most for any player in the G-MAC this season. St. John then had 29 points and six rebounds at Thomas More before finishing the week with 15 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals in a win at Kentucky Wesleyan. Northwood went 3-1 in the last two weeks while playing four games in seven days against teams that were a combined 17-3 in G-MAC play at the time of the game.

Northwood (11-5, 7-1 G-MAC), which currently stands in first place in the Great Midwest, hosts Ursuline Thursday (January 15). Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
