RECAP: Led by a near quadruple-double from Maeve St. John, Northwood women's basketball extended their winning streak to eight with a 95-77 road win at Walsh Saturday (February 7).

GAME STORY

  • Walsh was the better team early in the game, holding a 19-12 lead with less than a minute to go in the first quarter.
  • Northwood finished the period strong, scoring the last six points in the final 43 seconds to trail by one at 19-18 heading to the second.
  • Walsh led 24-21 early in the second when Northwood went on a run to go on top. NU scored 18 of the next 22 points to take a 39-28 lead.
  • The Cavaliers responded with an 11-3 run to get back within three at 42-39.
  • Northwood eventually went on to hold a 50-42 lead at the break.
  • Both teams had big offensive quarters in the second. Northwood scored 32 points while shooting 76.5 percent (13-17) while Walsh had 23 points while shooting 60.0 percent (9-15). The two teams combined to go 7-10 from 3-point range (NU 4-6, WU 3-4).
