Women's Golf Wins Lake Erie Invitational

The Northwood University women's golf team claimed first place at the Qdoba-Lake Erie Invitational Monday afternoon (September 24).

The two-day, 36-hole event was held at Fowler's Mill Golf Course. The course played as a 5,821 yard, par 72.

The Timberwolves opened the event with a team score of 343, which gave the Timberwolves a five-shot lead over Ohio Dominican. NU then carded a 341 in the final round, good for a two-day total of 684. Northwood won the event by six shots over ODU and eight shots over Walsh.

Senior Brittany Davidson (Mississauga, Ont.) led the way for the Timberwolves, earning individual medalist honors. She shot rounds of 80 and 79 to finish at 159, five strokes clear of the field. Junior Amee Cox (Liverpool, England) tied for second at 164 (81-83).

Northwood will travel to Grand Valley State Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 29-30).
