The Northwood University women's golf team placed fifth at their lone home event of the season Sunday afternoon (April 21), the Northwood Invitational.
The event was originally scheduled for 36 holes, but the event was shortened to 18 holes due to poor weather. Bucks Run was the host course for the event, which played at 5,813 yards (par 72).
Northwood shot a team score of 336. Ashland was the overall winner at 306, followed by Ferris State (310) and Grand Valley State (311). A total of 10 teams took part in the event.
Emily Vergin (Milford, Mich.) led the way for the Timberwolves. She carded a 79 to tie for 13th overall. Brittany Davidson (Mississauga, Ont.) tied for 20th with a score of 82. A total of 57 individuals took part in the event.
Northwood will travel to the GLIAC Championships April 26-28. The event is being hosted by Tiffin University.
