Women's Golf Places Sixth At GVSU
The Northwood University women's golf team placed sixth out of 13 teams at the Gilda's Club Laker Invite Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 28-29).
The two-day, 36-hole event was hosted by Grand Valley State at the Meadows Golf Club. The course played as a 6,041 yard par 72.
Northwood shot team scores of 350 and 331 to finish at 681 overall. Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 627, followed by Ferris State one stroke back at 627.
The Timberwolves were led by redshirt freshman Grace Cannon (Liverpool, England). She carded rounds of 78 and 85 to finish 18th overall. Emily Vergin (Milford, Mich.) tied for 32nd overall at 171 (88-83). A total of 75 players took part in the event
Northwood returns to action at the Ashland Invitational October 5-6.
