Women's Golf Finishes Fifth At Ferris State Bulldog Invitational

The Northwood University women's golf team placed fifth out of 15 teams at the Ferris State Bulldog Invitational Saturday and Sunday (October 13-14).

The event was held at the Katke Golf Club in Big Rapids.

Northwood shot teams scores of 322 and 326 to finish at 648 overall.  Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 607, followed by Ferris State (617) and Ashland (624).

The Timberwolves were led by Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Canada/Newman U.).  The sophomore shot rounds of 78 and 82 to finish at 160 overall, good for a tie for 19th. Emily Vergin (Milford, Mich.) finished 21st overall at 161 (82-79), followed closely by Danielle Little (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) at 162 (78-84). A total of 82 players took part in the event.

Northwood will finish its fall season at the Findlay Invitational October 20-21.
