Women's Golf Earns Trip to NCAA East Regional Championship
MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's golf team has earned a trip to the NCAA East Regional Championship, which was announced Sunday night (April 26).
The east regional championship will take place at the Findlay Country Club in Ohio May 4-6.
A total of 18 teams from each of the four regions have earned a trip to the event. All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top four teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the NCAA championships.
The Timberwolves are the No. 15 seed in the region. Northwood is coming off a record-breaking spring season where the Timberwolves recently set school records for low 18-hole team score (294) and low 54-hole tournament score (928). NU set the tournament record at the G-MAC Championship, where the Timberwolves placed third overall.
This marks the sixth time overall Northwood has qualified for the regionals in program history. It is the first time the Timberwolves have reached the event since the 2021-22 season.
The NCAA national championships will be held May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
