GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The key stretch of the game came at the start, as Davenport controlled the opening period. DU scored the first seven goals in the first 5:51 of the game.
  • Northwood got on the board at the 3:24 mark of the first on a goal from Anna Young that made the score 7-1 after one.
  • The second period was a defensive battle, as there were only two goals scored in the quarter. DU netted both of them, giving the Panthers a 9-1 lead heading into the second half.
  • Northwood and Davenport alternated four goals in the third. Gabby Wilson netted both of the NU goals in the quarter, sending the game to the fourth with DU on top 11-3.
  • After giving up the opening goal of the final period, Northwood put together a run, which featured their best play of the season. From 11:59 to 5:37, Northwood scored five straight goals to get back within four at 12-8. Mairin Ziegler and Wilson each scored a pair in that stretch, while Paige Schultz added another.
  • The Panthers responded with the final three goals to close out the victory.
