The Northwood University women's soccer team fell 2-1 at Saginaw Valley on Sunday (September 21).
The Timberwolves are now 1-3-1 on the season, 1-1-1 in the GLIAC. The Cardinals improve to 4-0-1 on the year, 2-0 in the GLIAC.
Saginaw Valley controlled play for the majority of the match, allowing Northwood to register just a single shot in the opening 45 min. The Timberwolves allowed 11 shots in the first half, falling behind 1-0 at the break.
NU registered the second shot of the game on Kayla Trevino (Findlay, Ohio / Liberty-Benton) hitting the cross bar in the 88th minute. For the match, Saginaw Valley held the advantage in shots (16-2) and corner kicks (7-4). Junior goalkeeper, Julie Shields (Berkley, Mich.) registered five saves on the day.
