RECAP: Women's soccer opened their home schedule Thursday (September 12) with a regional matchup with Davenport. The game was 0-0 at the half before teams each added one to finish with a 1-1 draw.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Davenport controlled most of the offensive possession in the first half, leading 7-2 in shot attempts and 3-1 in corner opportunities.
- Coming out of the break, Carly Boyd capitalized on a free kick in the 52' from inside the midfield circle. Her long ball ricochetted off the goalkeeper's outstretched arm and snuck underneath the crossbar, 1-0 NU.
- 10 minutes later the Davenport offense continued to push the pace. They would tie it at one in the 62' with a clean pass into the box and knock in a score.
- Teams held tight as both looked to add one late, but Northwood continued to hold off the Panther attack, finishing with a 1-1 draw.
