Full List of All-Conference Honorees
MIDLAND, MICH. - Three Northwood women's soccer players earned All-Conference or other postseason honors from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) on Thursday (November 14). Junior Carly Boyd (Oxford, Mich.) and redshirt senior Brooke Honeycutt (Trenton, Mich.) both were named to the Second Team, while Ella Boyd (Oxford, Mich.) was named Freshman of the Year.
MEET THE ATHLETES
Carly Boyd earned her second career All-G-MAC honor after being a Third Team honoree in 2022. Currently third in the conference in scoring with 27 points this season, she leads the Timberwolves in both goals (nine) and assists (nine). Her nine assists helped her break Northwood's career assists record, now 26. The forward's big leg has been a Northwood staple on free kick and corner opportunities. Her goal from the midfield circle versus Davenport (September 12) was a highlight reel goal for the junior.
Along with Boyd, Honeycutt earned her second career All-G-MAC honor. A First Team selection in 2022, Honeycutt has 15 points (five goals and five assists) this season and was named G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week on October 14. The redshirt senior is one of Northwood's offensive weapons on the wing. Her 55 career points as a Timberwolf are the tenth most in program history. Boyd and Honeycutt became just the 11th and 12th players in program history to break the 50 career point threshold during their time at Northwood this season.
Freshman Ella Boyd jumped on the scene this year and is currently second on the team in goals (8), which ranks sixth in the conference. She has shown to be one of Northwood's top finishers around the net, scoring a brace in Northwood's 3-0 win over Tiffin on October 5. Her eight goals rank 10th best in DII for a freshman this season and are first amongst freshmen in the G-MAC and amongst Midwest regional teams. She also is the first Northwood player to win conference Freshman of the Year honors since Amy Snyder ('02-'05) in 2002.
