RECAP: Women's Soccer took on Cedarville in Midland Thursday afternoon (October 23). Cedarville held possession early and often through the first 45 minutes. Cedarville scored the first goal in the 65', but Northwood's Boyd sisters answered with the equalizer moments later to finish the game in a draw 1-1.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Cedarville applied early pressure with multiple shots on target, but Lindsay Jacob came up with three saves to keep the teams tied going into the break.
  • Cedarville's pressure finally broke the Northwood back line in the 65'. The Yellow Jackets took the 1-0 lead off a throw-in from the far side. The assist gave CU's forward an opening inside the right post, 1-0 CU.
  • The tides turned just after the Jacket's goal. Northwood answered quickly in the 72', with Ella Boyd burying the equalizer off a setup from Carly Boyd. CU's keeper took off from the goal line to try to bat Carly Boyd's cross away, but Ella Boyd challenged and won with a leaping header that rolled in the back of the net, 1-1.
  • Northwood was the aggressor over the final 18 minutes of action, holding possession, but the match would ultimately end in a 1-1 draw.
