Women's Soccer Is No. 8 In NCAA's First Set Of Midwest Regional Rankings

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood women's soccer team (10-1-5, 10-1-5 In-Region) was ranked No. 8 in the initial set of NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings, released Wednesday (November 5).

The Midwest Region features several programs ranked or receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) National Poll (November 4). Grand Valley State leads the regional field and sits at No. 6 nationally, followed by Ashland at No. 13 and McKendree at No. 22. Northwood is one of four Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) teams in the top 10 of the NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings, joining Ashland (No. 5), Cedarville (No. 6), Findlay (No. 9), and Northwood (No. 8).

A total of 56 teams will qualify for this year's NCAA Division II Tournament, with the top eight programs from the Midwest Region earning berths. The opening rounds are scheduled for November 21–23 and will be hosted at 16 campus sites nationwide.

The NCAA Selection Show is set for Monday, November 17, at 6:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.

The Timberwolves will host the G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinals Saturday at Dean Field at 7 p.m. Northwood will be the No. 4 seed and take on No. 5 Lake Erie in a rematch of last Saturday's (November 1) thriller in which the Timberwolves got the 2-1 victory with seconds remaining.
