Tetyana Pavych Earns GLIAC Commissioner's Award

MIDLAND, MICH. – Tetyana Pavych, a senior from the Northwood University women's tennis team, has earned a Commissioner's Award from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The awards are presented after the Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play. All grade-point averages are based on a 4.0 scale.
Pavych led Northwood to a share of the GLIAC Women's Tennis Championship this season and was named the GLIAC Player of the Year. Playing from the top of the singles and doubles lineups, she went 7-2 at No. 1 singles and a perfect 9-0 at No. 1 doubles with partner Carol Arnez-Mercado.
Over her career for the Timberwolves, Pavych has gone 60-8 overall in singles (37-4 in the GLIAC) and 42-10 in doubles (29-2 the GLIAC). She is the eighth player in school history to earn GLIAC Player of the Year. A Management Information Systems major, Pavych sports a 3.829 GPA and has been named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence team three times in her career.
