The Northwood University volleyball team earned a 3-0 win over Lake Erie Saturday afternoon (October 20). Set scores were 25-20, 25-7, 25-9.
Northwood is now 17-5 overall, 11-0 in the GLIAC. Lake Erie falls to 3-17 overall, 0-11 in the GLIAC.
The Timberwolves dominated the match from the start. Lake Erie only lead in the entire match was at 1-0 in the third set. Northwood hit .061 in the first set, but finished the match by hitting .409 in the second (12-3-22) and .455 in the third (11-1-22). The Timberwolves also held the Storm to a -.022 mark for the match (18-20-89).
Thirteen different Timberwolves saw action in the match. Leading the way was freshman Krysta Kramer (Lansing, Mich./Grand Ledge), who registered a match-high eight kills. Tatjana Rajic (Belgrade, Serbia) had six kills on seven swings in two sets, while Courtney Scott (West Bloomfield, Mich./Walled Lake Northern) finished with four kills and five blocks.
Northwood will host Lake Superior State Friday night (October 26). First serve is set for 4 p.m.
